Globe Life Field

Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas played a huge role in the Texas Rangers Legacy. The stadium was also known as Rangers Ballpark in Arlington from 2007–2013, Ameriquest Field in Arlington from 2005–2006, and the Ballpark in Arlington from 1994 to 2004. The stadium opened on April 1, 1994. The stadium cost $191 million to build. That’s $393 million in 2023 dollars.
They would host their first World Series appearance in 2010. The Texas Rangers would face the San Francisco Giants. They would lose to them in five games. The stadium also hosted the 2011 World Series where the Texas Rangers came one strike away from winning the World Series. However, the Cardinals would persevere and win that series. Opening in 1994, this was meant to be an open-air stadium. However, this posed many problems. Many of their games couldn’t be played during the day. This created many scheduling problems for the MLB.
Some notable events include the International Champions Cup soccer match featuring Atletico de Madrid of Spain vs. Chivas de Guadalajara of Mexico, played on July 23, 2019. It also hosted the 1995 All-Star game.
Notable concerts included the Paul McCartney concert in 2019 and the Billy Joel concert that was also in 2019. These were two of the last concerts to be held at Globe Life Park.
Globe Life Park will be remembered as a great ballpark.

The most recent new stadium is Globe Life Field, located in Arlington Texas, home of the Texas Rangers. The stadium cost approximately $1.1 billion to build. The stadium opened on May 29, 2020, specifically for a high school graduation. The stadium is the first indoor stadium that the Texas Rangers call home.

During the 2020 season, the coronavirus had many people worried. The MLB would implement a playoff “bubble” system starting with the second round of the playoffs. Globe Life Field and Minute Maid Park in Houston would share the 2020 National League Division Series second-round playoff series. One series was hosted in Houston and the other was sponsored in Arlington.

It has hosted the 2020 World Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Los Angeles Dodgers. They would host their own World Series in 2023. The Texas Rangers would beat the Arizona Diamondbacks in five games.

Notable concerts included Def Leppard, Lady Gaga, Green Day, and the Red-Hot Chili Peppers. Globe Life field is an excellent home for the Texas Rangers.
