The 2021 Atlanta Braves were an incredible team. Going into the season they were expected to perform well. However, once the season began, they began to have their troubles. In May of 2021, Marcel Ozuna was released by the MLB because he was charged with domestic abuse against his wife. Then in July, Ronald Acuna Jr. was injured trying to make a catch against the fence in rightfield. Things were not looking good for the Braves. Most teams would have been happy getting above .500 at this point, but the Braves made a plan to give it everything they had.

An 88–74 team is probably the most unlikely team to win a World Series title. Let alone make it to the playoffs. This baseball season should remind you that even the most unlikely groups of people can work hard and overcome challenges. You can do this too. By showing up every day and doing the things to move toward your goal, you will overcome obstacles and put yourself in a position to win.

Baseball and business have a lot in common. Most businesses tend to fail, as well as most baseball teams. Businesses fail when they cannot generate enough profits. Baseball teams fail when they can’t win enough games. Both need to produce.

Tough times will come up for businesses and baseball teams. If you can’t adapt, you will lose. The Atlanta Braves were the team that best adapted to their situation. They got the right people and devised a plan to win. That’s what we all need in life and business.
